RSP, RPP continue walkout from HoR over visa scam

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers from the opposition Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) again boycotted the House of Representatives session on Wednesday, citing the government’s failure to form a parliamentary or high-level judicial committee to investigate the visit visa scandal.

As soon as Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire announced the start of the proceedings, RSP and RPP MPs stood up in protest. Speaker Ghimire allowed RSP lawmaker Ashok Kumar Chaudhary to speak, who stated that the committees requested by their parties have not been formed, and they would continue their protest until action is taken.

Following him, RPP MP Deepak Bahadur Singh was allowed to speak. Afterward, MPs from both parties exited the chamber. They have been continuously boycotting parliamentary sessions since May 27.
