Malekhu–Muglin road to remain closed at night from today

KATHMANDU: Vehicular movement along the Malekhu–Muglin section of the Prithvi Highway will be restricted during nighttime hours from June 13 to June 21, according to local authorities.

The road will remain closed to all but emergency vehicles daily from 10:30 pm to 3:00 am due to ongoing construction works.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Subash Hamal of the Dhading District Police Office informed that the closure is necessary to allow the installation of RCC beams over several bridges — including those at Barbhang Khola, Mowa Khola, Khatauti Khola, and Gomti Khola.

Due to the large size of the crane required to place the beams, traffic movement needs to be fully halted during the operation hours.

According to the official notice, heavy vehicles heading towards Muglin will be halted at Malekhu, while light vehicles will be stopped at Shital Bazar. Likewise, vehicles approaching Muglin from the Muglin side will be halted at Muglin (for heavy vehicles) and at Kurintar (for light vehicles).

All halted vehicles will be allowed to move only after 3:00 am.

Authorities have urged the public to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the temporary restrictions to ensure safety and smooth completion of the construction work.
