Today’s foreign currency exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has published the foreign exchange rates for today (Friday), showing an increase in the value of major international currencies including the US dollar, euro, pound, dinar, and Australian dollar. This comes after all of these currencies had declined in value the previous day.

According to the central bank, the buying rate for one US dollar today is Rs. 136.67 and the selling rate is Rs. 137.27. On Thursday, the buying and selling rates were Rs. 136.52 and Rs. 137.12 respectively.

The highest recorded value of the US dollar in the Nepali market so far was on Magh 25, when the buying rate reached Rs. 139.83 and the selling rate climbed to Rs. 140.43.

Similarly, the buying rate of one euro today is Rs. 158.45 and the selling rate is Rs. 159.14. Yesterday, the euro was traded at Rs. 156.02 (buying) and Rs. 156.70 (selling).

The British pound is being bought at Rs. 185.67 and sold at Rs. 186.48, an increase from Thursday’s rates of Rs. 184.10 and Rs. 184.91 respectively.

Likewise, the buying rate of the Australian dollar has reached Rs. 89.03 and the selling rate is Rs. 89.42, compared to Rs. 88.81 and Rs. 89.20 the previous day.

The Kuwaiti dinar is being traded at a buying rate of Rs. 446.75 and a selling rate of Rs. 448.71, slightly higher than yesterday’s rates of Rs. 445.74 and Rs. 447.69.

Similarly, the Bahraini dinar is being bought at Rs. 362.40 and sold at Rs. 364.00 today, up from Rs. 362.01 and Rs. 363.60 yesterday.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these rates are subject to revision at any time based on market conditions. It has also noted that the exchange rates set by commercial banks may vary slightly, and the most up-to-date rates can be found on the central bank’s official website.
