Link tourism to economic progress: Chief Minister Pandey



DAMAULI: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Surendra Raj Pandey has stressed the need of linking tourism with economic progress.

Inaugurating the 12th Cultural Festival in Bandipur town on Sunday, CM Pandey said Bandipur is a rural municipality with huge tourism potential.

Stating that Bandipur is being developed as a major tourist destination after Pokhara city, the capital of Gandaki Province, he said the province government would extend support for the tourism development of this ancient hilltop town.

“Tourism should be linked to the income of local people. For this, we will cooperate with the municipality,” he reiterated.

On the occasion, coordinator of Bandipur Visit Year 2025, Baish Bahadur Gurung, said the cultural festival was organized to make Bandipur Visit Year successful and to entertain domestic and foreign tourists visiting Bandipur in the New Year, 2082BS.
