JHAPA: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli laid the foundation stone for Gauradaha City Hospital in Jhapa today. The ceremony was held at Chautu Chowk in Ward No. 1 of the municipality.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Oli expressed confidence that the hospital would serve not only local residents but also people from neighboring areas of India. He added that the hospital’s services could be expanded as needed and emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering basic services across all sectors through the use of information and technology.

The Prime Minister also encouraged young people to pursue professional careers and employment within Nepal, highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts to promote national development through constructive initiatives.

An agreement has been signed with J&J Construction Service to build the hospital on two bighas of land at a cost of Rs 125.979 million. The project is expected to be completed by Magh 14, 2083 BS.

The plan to build a 15-bed basic hospital in each local level was first announced in 2075 BS during Oli’s previous tenure as Prime Minister. However, construction of the hospital in Gauradaha was delayed due to issues related to land acquisition.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal and Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki were also present at the ceremony.
