Maoist Center calls office bearers meeting to assign responsibilities

KATHMANDU: The Maoist Center has scheduled an office bearers meeting for Wednesday at 8 am, according to party Secretary Ram Karki.

The meeting will primarily focus on assigning leaders’ responsibilities based on regions, geography, and various departments.

Karki mentioned that the agenda includes serious discussions on dividing tasks in line with leaders’ capacities and competencies to bring transformation within the party.

Previously, the Maoists held a central committee meeting, attended by former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, signaling efforts to reintegrate him into party politics.

Discussions are ongoing about appointing Pun as the senior vice chair of the party, though some leaders argue that his respected position would be diminished if he re-enters active politics.

However, party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal appears inclined to assign Pun a role once responsibilities are allocated.

Additionally, there are growing calls to assign roles to former student leaders from Maoist-affiliated organizations, aligning responsibilities with their capabilities.
