Inmate dies during treatment



BIRGUNJ: An inmate of the Birgunj Jail has died while undergoing medical treatment. The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Anil Mahato of Birgunj Metropolitan City-12.

According to jail administrator Babulal Regmi, Mahato, who had been imprisoned in connection with a homicide case, passed away during treatment.

“We took the inmate to Narayani Hospital immediately after noticing his health issues, but he breathed his last while receiving care,” Regmi said.

Mahato had been serving a three-year prison sentence and had been fined Rs 2,000 by the court in connection with a vehicular homicide case.
