Education Ministry seeks nationwide details of land owned by community schools and learning centers



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has sought detailed information on land ownership and usage related to community schools and learning centers across the country.

According to the ministry, the data will be collected through the Center for Education and Human Resource Development, which has been instructed to gather details on land registered under the names of community schools and learning centers, their current status, and any existing disputes or encroachments.

Education Minister Mahabir Pun said he directed the center to collect the information after receiving reports from various districts regarding irregularities and misuse of school property.

Nepal currently has a total of 35,447 schools, of which around 73 percent are community schools.
