Nepal batting against UAE, looking to avenge previous defeats

KATHMANDU: Nepal is batting against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Super Six stage of the ICC Men’s T20 Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifier.

After winning the toss, captain Rohit Paudel opted to bat first at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground, inviting the UAE to field.

Coach Stewart Law has retained the same playing XI that featured in the previous match against Japan.

The match is crucial for both teams as they remain unbeaten with two points each. The outcome will determine which side faces its first defeat and strengthen the winner’s chances of advancing to the T20 World Cup Qualifier, as well as moving closer to the title.

Nepal has a point to prove, having lost all three of their previous encounters against the UAE in Oman, including the T20 Asia Cup Qualifier semifinal that cost them a place in the Asia Cup.

This time, Nepal appears in strong form and is determined to secure victory against the UAE on the same ground after a year and a half.
