Moderate to heavy rain forecast in hilly and Terai regions



KATHMANDU: Nepal is likely to experience continued wet weather today, as the monsoon low-pressure system hovers near its average position, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Widespread cloud cover and rainfall are expected across several provinces, with moderate to heavy showers likely in both hilly and Terai regions.

As a result, the weather across the country will remain generally cloudy today. Moderate rainfall is expected this afternoon in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

A few areas in the remaining provinces may also experience moderate showers. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is likely in one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, the sky will remain mostly cloudy nationwide. Moderate rain is likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with light to moderate showers possible in other hilly and Terai regions.

There is also a chance of heavy rainfall in isolated spots in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
