KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has announced today’s official foreign exchange rates. The buying rate for one US dollar is NPR 141.22, and the selling rate is NPR 141.82.
Likewise, one euro buys for NPR 165.03 and sells for NPR 165.73; the UK pound sterling is bought at NPR 190.78 and sold at NPR 191.59; the Swiss franc’s buying rate is NPR 176.64 and selling rate NPR 177.39.
Meanwhile, the Australian dollar is NPR 93.30 to buy and NPR 93.69 to sell; the Canadian dollar is NPR 101.70 buying and NPR 102.14 selling; Singapore dollar is NPR 109.91 buying and NPR 110.37 selling.
For Asian currencies, 10 Japanese yen are bought at NPR 9.54 and sold at NPR 9.58, the Chinese yuan is NPR 19.82 to buy and NPR 19.91 to sell, Saudi riyal is NPR 37.64 buying and NPR 37.80 selling, and Qatari riyal is NPR 38.74 buying and NPR 38.91 selling.
The rates for Southeast and Gulf region currencies are also fixed: Thai baht can be bought at NPR 4.44 and sold at NPR 4.45; UAE dirham at NPR 38.45 buying and NPR 38.61 selling; Malaysian ringgit NPR 33.45 buying and NPR 33.59 selling.
For 100 South Korean won, the buying rate is NPR 10.14 and selling rate is NPR 10.18. The Danish kroner is NPR 22.11 buying and NPR 22.20 selling.
Other rate settings include: the Hong Kong dollar at NPR 18.13 buying and NPR 18.21 selling; Kuwaiti dinar at NPR 462.17 buying and NPR 464.13 selling; Bahraini dinar at NPR 374.56 buying and NPR 376.16 selling; and one Omani rial at NPR 366.79 buying and NPR 368.34 selling.
Aditionally, the exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees has been fixed at NPR 160 to buy, and NPR 160.15 to sell.
The central bank has cautioned that these rates may be revised as needed. Commercial banks’ rates may differ slightly; the latest rates are available on the central bank’s website.
