PM Oli holding talks with Agriculture Minister to prevent fertilizer shortage

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is holding discussions today with Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Ramnath Adhikari, ministry secretary Govinda Prasad Sharma, and senior officials from the Agriculture Inputs Company Limited to ensure the smooth supply of chemical fertilizers and review the status of farming.

According to the Prime Minister’s private secretariat, the meeting, scheduled for this afternoon at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, was called following farmers’ complaints about not receiving fertilizers on time, despite adequate stock and ongoing imports.

PM Oli has focused on addressing the problem and previously directed concerned authorities to prevent shortages, expedite plans for setting up domestic chemical fertilizer plants, and promote the production and use of organic fertilizers.
