Westerly and monsoon winds influencing weather patterns



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that westerly and local winds are currently influencing the western and central parts of the country, while monsoon winds are affecting most areas of Koshi Province.

According to the Division, the weather is presently partly cloudy over the hilly regions, including Koshi and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear to partly cloudy.

By afternoon, the weather is expected to become partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, including Koshi and Lumbini Provinces, with the rest of the country remaining mostly clear to partly cloudy.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas, particularly in Koshi Province. Light rain or snowfall may also occur in one or two locations in the high hills and mountainous regions.

Tonight, skies are expected to be partly to generally cloudy across the country, with the possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in a few places. Light rain and snowfall may also occur in isolated high hill and mountain areas.
