KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said the government has been working to address the problems of the private sector.
Receiving suggestions presented by Nepal Chamber of Commerce for the formulation of revenue polices and programmes for coming fiscal year 2025/26, economic bill and budget here on Monday, Finance Minister Paudel mentioned that the government has been making maximum efforts considering the importance of the private sector in the country’s economy.
“Significant efforts including amendment to laws were carried out to end problems facing the private sector for long soon after the formation of the incumbent government. We have been moving ahead making necessary decision to implement it. The government will follow the report of High-Level Economic Reforms Suggestion Commission”, he argued.
Stating that the government has forwarded steps one after another for increasing overall national income, the DPM shared that the government is serious and aware to resolve problems seen in country’s economy.
“We have been working to make the budget for coming fiscal year in a way to gain more achievements”, he said, adding the government was positive to boost self-confidence and trust of private sector as it has important share in national economy.
Finance Minister Paudel expressed commitment to follow the suggestions of NCC on the basis of need.
Similarly, President of NCC, Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, shared that the private sector has high expectations from the incumbent government.
“The government’s annual policies and programme will also help make country’s economy to become more dynamic in coming days. The report of the High-Level Economic Reforms Suggestion Commission comprising the private sector has given important suggestions. There will be positive sign in economic sector after implementation of the report”, he mentioned.
Pointing out the need of making budget focused on development of agriculture, tourism and energy sectors, creating employment, environment of commercial and industrial investment in top priority, the NCC submitted the suggestion on 100 different issues including VAT, income tax, revenue investigation, money laundering and customs.
