Karnali Highway to close 8 hours daily for 15 days due to road repairs

SURKHET: The Karnali Highway will remain closed for eight hours daily for 15 days due to road maintenance work along the Sisne–Sai section in Dailekh district.

According to a notice issued by the Dailekh District Administration Office, the road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily to facilitate the repairs.

The contract for the work has already been managed, but construction issues prompted the need for this temporary closure.

Traffic heading toward Kalikot, Jumla, Mugu, and Humla in Karnali Province, as well as Achham and Bajura in Sudurpaschim Province, will be diverted from Ramaghat.

Vehicles will need to take a detour through Sattala on the Mid-Hill Highway to reach Sai.

The Ramaghat–Sai stretch is approximately 18 kilometers long, but the detour extends the route to about 32 kilometers. A new contract was issued after the 12-kilometer Sisne–Sai segment became severely damaged.
