Buddha’s teachings guide humanity toward peace and prosperity: Deuba

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the wisdom, ideals, and path of peace achieved by Gautam Buddha through deep spiritual discipline are unparalleled in the world.

Extending his best wishes on the occasion of the 2569th birth anniversary of Gautam Buddha today, President Deuba stated that Buddha’s teachings, born on Nepali soil, continue to inspire humanity globally toward prosperity and progress through peace.

He emphasized that everyone should embody the teachings of Buddha—the symbol of peace, tolerance, and harmony—in thought, word, and action.

Wishing for peace to prevail in the nation by rejecting unrest, violence, and injustice, he conveyed his heartfelt greetings to all Buddhists and peace-loving people on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti.

President Deuba also extended warm wishes to all Nepalis, both at home and abroad, on the occasion of the Ubhauli festival, celebrated by the Kirat community, traditional worshippers of nature.

Marking the full moon day of Baisakh, he hoped that the Ubhauli celebration would bring abundant harvests and ensure that no one faces food scarcity anywhere on Earth.
