Vice President Yadav highlights Buddha’s teachings as a guide to social harmony

KATHMANDU: Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has said that Lord Buddha’s reverence for nature serves as an inspiration to address today’s environmental challenges.

In his message on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, the Vice President emphasized that Buddha’s love for nature encourages the world to confront the impacts of climate change.

He noted that Buddha’s teachings are equally powerful in addressing social and economic irregularities. “The Buddhist community marks this day with special devotion in monasteries, promoting unity,” he said, adding that Buddha Jayanti is a reminder of the values of peace, non-violence, love, and self-awareness.

Vice President Yadav further stated that truth, morality, compassion, friendship, and a balanced life are at the core of Buddha’s teachings. Celebrating Buddha Jayanti is also a form of self-reflection, helping individuals rise from ignorance toward enlightenment, he added.

He also extended greetings to all Nepalis celebrating Swan Punhi, Ubhauli, Chandi Poornima, and Gorakhnath Jayanti today.
