CPN-UML to hold awareness rally in in Damak today

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML is set to organize a province-level awareness rally in Damak, Jhapa today, with the event scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm at Pashuhat.

The meeting will be addressed by Prime Minister and party Chair KP Sharma Oli.

The event, organized by the party’s Koshi Province committee, is part of a campaign to awaken people against what it terms as threats to the democratic republic, constitutional values, and the rise of regressive forces.

Thousands of UML cadres from across villages in Koshi Province have been arriving in Damak to participate in the gathering.

According to the party, attendees from the eastern side of the venue will park their vehicles after crossing the Ratuwa Bridge and then proceed to the venue with slogan processions. Similarly, those arriving from the west will disembark at the West Bus Stand before marching to Pashuhat.

Sherdhan Rai, UML’s Koshi Province in-charge and a standing committee member, said around 2,000 volunteers have been mobilized to coordinate and manage the program.

The UML has recently intensified its mass outreach programs across the country, with today’s meeting expected to draw a significant crowd and demonstrate the party’s influence in the eastern region.
