Babarmahal flooded as Melamchi water pipe bursts

KATHMANDU: A burst in the Melamchi drinking water pipe has caused severe flooding in the Babarmahal area.

Water entered the premises, submerging the ground floor of the Special Court and Kathmandu District Court buildings.

As a result, all documents and computers on the ground floor of the Special Court have been moved to the upper floors.

The court has also postponed all hearings scheduled for Wednesday.

In addition, the left track from Bijuli Bazaar to Babarmahal is currently closed due to the flooding.
