Over 100 leaders and activists from JSP Nepal join Nepali Congress

KATHMANDU: More than 100 leaders and activists from various parties, including Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, have joined the Nepali Congress at a program organized at party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Wednesday.

Among the notable figures switching allegiance were JSP Nepal central member Amrit Bahadur Sunuwar, central council member Man Prasad Sunuwar, JSP women central member Lukmaya Sunuwar, Ramechhap district secretary Prasad Sunuwar, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Ramechhap vice-president Dashram Sunuwar.

Welcoming the new members, President Deuba handed them the party’s general membership and encouraged them to actively participate in strengthening the organization.

He stressed that party opportunities would be based on contributions and activism rather than seniority.

The program was coordinated by Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Purna Bahadur Tamang, who is also the President of Ramechhap Congress. He assured the newcomers of fairness and urged them to work towards organizational growth.

Former MP Dilman Pakhrin, Dolakha Congress President Verma Lama, and other senior leaders were also present at the event.
