Eight federal parliament committees holding meetings today



KATHMANDU: The eight committees under the Federal Parliament are holding meetings today at Singha Durbar, according to the Parliament Secretariat.

The Finance Committee will begin discussions at 11:00 am on the bill to amend and consolidate the customs law with lawmakers who proposed amendments. Similarly, the Industry, Commerce, and Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee will meet at 11:30 am to discuss the remuneration of workers at Mount Everest Brewery Pvt. Ltd.

At 11:00 am, the Agriculture, Cooperatives, and Natural Resources Committee will deliberate on upcoming programs and current issues, while the Women and Social Affairs Committee will discuss its monitoring visits and future programs.

The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee is set to continue its clause-wise discussion on the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2080, starting at 12:15 pm. Meanwhile, the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee will hold a clause-wise discussion on the Shaheed Dashrath Chand University of Health Sciences Bill, 2080, at 1:30 pm.

Additionally, the Legislative Management Committee will review the draft report on the Nepal Legal Practitioners Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081, at 1:00 pm.

The Federalism Enablement and National Concerns Committee will meet at 11:30 am to discuss the existing electoral system and potential alternatives.
