Economic development possible thru use of natural resources: Deuba

MYAGDI: Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the country’s economic development was possible through proper use of natural means and resources.

Inaugurating the 8th Myagdi Festival and province-level trade fair in Beni on Sunday, the NC President argued that employment creation and income generation could be ensured through the utilization of water resources, land, and forest.

He also viewed bringing the private sector on board for the purpose of managing natural resources.

“We have initiated policy-level reforms to prevent the industries from being a shambles and create an investment-friendly climate,” according to Deuba.

The fair is being organized by Myagdi chamber of commerce and industry on the occasion of Maghe Sankranti.

The 10-day-long event is expected to receive almost 100,000 tourists and see the business transaction of Rs 100 million.
