RPP seeks clarification from Madhesh Province lawmaker Kanchan Bichha Sah for joining UML-led Cabinet



KATHMANDU: The Central Discipline Committee of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has sought a written clarification from Madhesh Province Assembly member Kanchan Bichha Sah, accusing her of violating party discipline.

In a letter issued on Monday, Committee Member-Secretary Bhakti Prasad Sitoula stated that Sah joined the Cabinet led by CPN-UML parliamentary leader Saroj Yadav without consulting the party leadership or organization, an act deemed contrary to the party’s principles and interests.

“You have acted irresponsibly and in an undisciplined manner, violating the party’s policies, principles, and interests. Therefore, under Article 30 (d) of the RPP Statute 1991 (with amendments up to 2020), you are requested to submit a written clarification within 24 hours explaining why disciplinary action should not be taken against you,” the letter reads.

Following the notice, Sah now faces two options: to respond with a justification or face disciplinary action. If she fails to provide clarification, she risks losing her provincial assembly seat.
