CM Saroj Kumar Yadav says he accepted the post to strengthen democracy



JANAKPURDHAM: Newly appointed Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav has said that he accepted the post to help institutionalize democracy and address the issues facing Madhes.

Speaking at a press conference in Janakpurdham on Tuesday, CM Yadav said he was appointed in accordance with Nepal’s constitution and that his leadership aimed to strengthen democratic governance in the province.

Yadav explained that, as the CPN-UML is the largest party in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly, he was appointed Chief Minister under Article 168 (3) of the Constitution.

He also highlighted the need for cooperation among all political parties to resolve the problems of Madhesh, urging stakeholders to abandon destructive activities and calling on journalists to report news objectively.
