KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress has resumed at the party’s headquarters in Sanepa. The meeting, which had been halted for three days following the death of party leader and former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam, convened again today.
An emergency meeting held last Saturday had passed a condolence motion on Alam’s demise. The ongoing session is focused on analyzing the political situation following the Gen-Z movement and outlining the party’s role and future strategic course.
The meeting, which began on October 14, has yet to conclude. Within the party, debate continues over whether to hold the 15th General Convention on schedule or to call a special convention instead.
