Vehicular movement along Barpak-Laprak section closed for two days

GORKHA: Vehicular movement has been suspended along the Barpak-Laprak section in Gorkha for two days starting today.

The road connects Barpak of Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality-1 with Laprak of Dharche Rural Municipality-4. Chairperson of Dharche Rural Municipality-4, Kisan Gurung, said Sharma-Vicky JV Construction Company is carrying out construction work, necessitating the temporary closure.

Authorities have urged vehicles to use alternative routes. Commuters have frequently faced difficulties due to delays in completing the road section. Historically, this road remains closed for months each rainy season because of incomplete upgrading works.

The contract for this road was signed in Jeth 2072 BS, with a planned completion by Jeth 2079 BS. However, the project is still unfinished, causing recurring inconvenience for passengers and transporters.
