RSP supporter arrested for vandalism during Gen-Z protest

POKHARA: A Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) supporter was arrested for causing public property damage during the Gen-Z protest on September 9.

Abhimanyu Pandey, also known as Bikram, was taken into custody by the Kaski District Police on Tuesday morning. He allegedly set fire to the house and business of Nepali Congress leader Bindukumar Thapa and damaged the statue of Lakhan Thapa at Prithvi Chowk during the protest.

Pandey, who had previously been arrested over the mismanagement of funds at the Pame-based Sangharshil Cooperative, was released on bail at that time. He also serves as the chairman of the cooperative.

The Kaski police have stated that they are seeking to extend the investigation period to file charges against him for criminal disruption.
