532 dengue cases reported in Baglung district



BAGLUNG: Dengue infections have surged in Baglung district, with 532 confirmed cases reported so far. According to the Provincial Public Health Office, Baglung, the virus has spread across all municipalities except Bareng Rural Municipality.

Baglung Municipality has recorded the highest number of cases with 295 infections, while Tamankhola Rural Municipality has reported only one case, said Dev Prakash Ghimire, Information Officer at the Public Health Office. He added that patients showing symptoms are being tested in all ten municipalities as cases continue to rise.

“The number of infections has increased notably after Dashain and Tihar,” Ghimire said. “We have intensified testing efforts as the outbreak has spread beyond the rainy season.”

Treatment facilities have been arranged at Dhaulagiri Hospital in Baglung, Galkot Hospital, Burtibang Hospital, and the Kusmishera Primary Health Center.

Dr. Rajesh Poudel, Chief of Galkot Municipal Hospital, advised residents to prevent mosquito bites and eliminate breeding sites such as stagnant water, old tires, containers, and ditches to help control the spread of dengue.
