Shashank advises Deuba: Dissolve central committee, appoint acting president

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shashank Koirala has suggested that party president Sher Bahadur Deuba appoint an acting president.

Speaking to journalists at the Congress Party office in Sanepa on Saturday, Koirala proposed that the central committee be dissolved and one person be designated as acting president to prepare for the general convention.

He expressed his personal view that the acting president should set the date for the regular general convention, which could be scheduled for the upcoming Mangsir.

Koirala also stated that the Congress is ready for the elections and emphasized the need for dialogue with other political parties.
