RSP denies plans to join interim govt

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has clarified that it has made no decision to participate in an interim government, despite growing political discussions about a transitional arrangement following nationwide Gen-Z protests.

Speaking to Khabarhub, acting party chairperson D.P. Aryal said the party’s central committee meeting was currently underway, but that joining an interim government was not on the agenda.

“We are not preparing to enter an interim government. No such decision has been taken,” Aryal stated. “The government must move forward in line with the demands raised by the Gen-Z generation. We will announce our official position after the conclusion of the central committee meeting.”

The RSP, which emerged as a strong alternative force in the 2022 general elections, has been under pressure to take a clear stance amid political uncertainty following Prime Minister KP Oli’s resignation earlier this week.
