Gen-Z protests: Death toll rises to 34, over 1,300 injured



KATHMANDU: At least 34 people have lost their lives during the Gen-Z–led protests on Monday and Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The ministry said that 1,338 people are currently undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country, while 949 others have already been discharged.

Hospital records show fatalities in multiple institutions: six at Civil Hospital, eight at the National Trauma Center, three at Everest Hospital, five at Bheri Hospital, three at Frontline Hospital, two at KMC Hospital, two at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, two at Bayodha Hospital, and one each at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Ilam Hospital, and B&C Hospital.

Authorities have described the casualties and injuries as among the most severe in recent years, as the protests spread nationwide.
