KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Ramkumari Jhakri has called on the Nepal Army to make President Ram Chandra Paudel public, amid growing questions over his whereabouts in the wake of the political turmoil.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Jhakri demanded that the head of state be presented openly before the people. Jhakri also suggested that former prime ministers should formally retire from active politics, stressing that Nepal’s political parties must undergo broad restructuring to meet the needs of the current crisis.
Addressing the Gen-Z movement, she acknowledged the legitimacy of their calls for action against corruption and misgovernance, and emphasized that solutions to the present crisis must be sought within the framework of the existing constitution.
“The rightful demands of the Gen-Z generation, including corruption control, must be addressed, but all solutions must come from within the constitution,” Jhakri wrote.
