Gen-Z youth outside Army Headquarters demand inclusion in interim govt talks

KATHMANDU: A group of Gen-Z youths at the Army Headquarters have requested to be included in ongoing negotiations regarding the formation of an interim government.

The protesters told security personnel that the leadership selected by a small group of representatives does not reflect their consensus, and they demanded entry into the talks. The Nepali Army, however, has asked them to appoint a recognized leader before joining the discussions.

Currently, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, her associate Durga Subedi, businessman Durga Prasain, and several Gen-Z representatives are holding talks with Army Chief Ashok Sigdel inside the military base.

The situation remains tense as both sides attempt to negotiate inclusion while maintaining security protocols.
