Form govt as per Constitution and Gen-Z’s aspirations: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that a new government should be formed in line with the aspirations of the Gen-Z movement and within the framework of the constitution.

In a 15-minute video message posted on Facebook on Thursday, Thapa stated that the recent political changes were driven by the Gen-Z generation and that their sentiments should guide the formation of the next government.

“We are ready to step aside if a government is formed according to your aspirations. Let that government work and take the country forward,” he said, addressing Gen-Z protesters.

Thapa cautioned, however, that the new government must adhere to constitutional provisions. He warned that any attempt to curtail the rights enshrined in the constitution could create an uncontrollable situation in the future.
