Gen-Z factions clash at Army Headquarters over interim PM nomination

KATHMANDU: Various groups claiming to represent the Gen-Z movement clashed outside the Army Headquarters today, demanding that their preferred candidates be considered for the position of interim government chief.

The dispute erupted as talks were set to appoint former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as the interim Prime Minister. Protesters insisted that their nominated individuals, rather than Karki, should be given the position. Many of the groups specifically supported Dharan Mayor Harka Sampang.

Tensions also spilled over onto media personnel, with some protesters expressing anger at Indian journalists covering the event. The Nepali Army has intervened, attempting to disperse the crowd and restore order outside the headquarters gates.
