PM Oli assures adequate fertilizer supply to farmers



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government is paying special attention to ensuring there is no shortage of chemical fertilizers during this year’s planting season.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Oli said there is currently a stock of 28,824 metric tons of fertilizer available across the country for immediate use.

“This year, the government has taken special care to ensure that there is no shortage of chemical fertilizers during the planting season,” Oli wrote. “According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 28,824 metric tons are available at present, while an additional 140,504 metric tons are on the way.”

According to ministry data, the Agriculture Inputs Company Limited currently has 29,111 metric tons of fertilizer in stock, including 16,539 metric tons of urea, 7,653 metric tons of DAP, and 4,915 metric tons of potash.

Similarly, Salt Trading Corporation has 13,712 metric tons of fertilizer, which includes 10,984 metric tons of urea, 942 metric tons of DAP, and 1,785 metric tons of potash.
