Bamdev Gautam and Madhav Nepal to merge parties

KATHMANDU: Bamdev Gautam’s National Unity Campaign and the CPN (Unified Socialist), headed by Madhav Kumar Nepal, have reached an agreement to unite their parties.

The decision was announced through a joint statement issued by both leaders on Thursday.

According to the statement, the unification is based on shared political ideology, principles, policies, and strategic direction. The leaders emphasized that the move is aimed at strengthening Nepal’s communist movement through unity and cooperation.

The formal declaration of the party unification will be made at a special event scheduled for July 18 at the Rastriya Sabha Griha in Kathmandu.

The two parties, both offshoots of Nepal’s broader leftist political landscape, have expressed their commitment to building a stronger, unified political force to advance their shared vision.
