12 leftist parties to hold pro-Palestine demonstration in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: A coalition of twelve leftist political parties, led by the CPN (Maoist Centre), is set to stage a protest in Kathmandu today in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The demonstration, organized in response to the reported killing of nearly 55,000 civilians in recent Israeli attacks, will begin at 1:00 PM at Shantibatika, Ratnapark.

Alongside major parliamentary parties like the CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), and Rastriya Janamorcha, several non-parliamentary leftist groups will also join the protest. These include parties led by Netra Bikram Chand and Mohan Baidya, both known for their hardline communist positions.

The protest aims to express solidarity with Palestinians and condemn what organizers describe as Israel’s ongoing aggression. The parties have called on the international community to act urgently to end the violence and protect innocent lives.
