Govt must act responsibly to break impasse in parliament: Barshaman Pun

KATHMANDU: Barshaman Pun, Deputy General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist Centre), stated that the parliamentary deadlock over the visit visa issue can be resolved if the government acts responsibly.

Speaking to journalists at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor on Wednesday, Pun said that while the opposition has shown flexibility to end the deadlock, the ruling party and government must also present themselves responsibly to find a solution.

He added that although the opposition has taken a softer stance, the government’s approach has been more rigid.

Pun said that the visit visa issue is not only a concern of the opposition but also a matter affecting the general public, making government commitment to investigation essential.

He urged the government to resolve the visit visa controversy before the budget discussion begins.

Pun further said that the ruling party should take greater responsibility in reopening the Parliament.
