KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has issued a warning that employees transferred to federal hospitals and subordinate offices must report to their new postings within three days, or face disciplinary action.
Following complaints that some transferred staff had not reported to their new positions and were continuing to work at their previous posts for extended periods, Health Minister Pradip Paudel instructed officials to ensure all transferred employees are present at their assigned locations within three days.
In response, the ministry’s Personnel Administration Branch sent official letters to federal hospitals and related offices, stating that employees who fail to report within the stipulated time will face departmental penalties, including recovery of service-related benefits, as per a secretary-level decision.
There has been a prevalent issue of staff working beyond their designated posts, which has contributed to difficulties in having transferred employees report promptly. The ministry’s stern warning aims to address this problem.
Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki said non-compliance will result in strict departmental actions.
