Rafting in Trishuli offers relief from scorching heat



DAMAULI: As temperatures soar and the summer heat becomes unbearable, the Trishuli River has emerged as a popular getaway for people seeking relief.

With the monsoon stalled in the east, visitors are flocking to this nearby river destination to cool off while enjoying thrilling activities like rafting and cliff jumping.

To escape the heat, people from various parts of the country have flocked to the Trishuli River for rafting. Located just two to three hours by car from Kathmandu and Chitwan, the river has seen a noticeable increase in visitors over the past few days. Along with rafting, many are enjoying the cool river waters by cliff jumping.

This season is considered ideal for rafting. Uddhav Kandel, owner of Trishuli Riverside Resort and Trishuli Villas, which have long offered rafting services, says the number of visitors has grown significantly.

“This is a perfect time for rafting as the river water level remains stable due to the absence of rain,” he said. “Rafting is a family-friendly adventure, which is why more people are coming during holidays, enjoying rafting and staying overnight at resorts and villas.”

Most visitors come from cities like Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara. “Some combine rafting with trips between Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara, while others visit specifically for rafting packages,” Kandel added. Besides rafting, many are also attracted by activities like sky cycling over the river.

Rafting on the Trishuli River is relatively easy and suitable for all age groups, making it a popular stop for travelers journeying between Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara.

Rafting guide Mithun Shrestha highlighted that the river itself is a prime destination for rafting, offering the thrilling experience of navigating rapids with family and friends. Its proximity to Kathmandu and easy accessibility by road have made Trishuli a top choice for rafting enthusiasts.
