Govt focused on constitution amendment and good governance: Minister Gurung

LUMBINI: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has stated that constitutional amendment, promotion of good governance, and revitalization of the economy are top priorities of the current government.

Speaking to media at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa, Minister Gurung, who also serves as the government spokesperson, said that the Constitution will be amended in a manner that ensures broader civic-level acceptance.

He informed that a taskforce comprising representatives from the two major ruling parties—the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML)—is currently reviewing potential areas for amendment within the Constitution.

“The amendment will be pursued through a broader political consensus,” he emphasized.

Minister Gurung also shared that the government is actively working to ensure the regular operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport. “A 10-point action plan has been endorsed for this purpose, and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is making dedicated efforts for its implementation,” he said.
