More is to come, warns RPP lawmaker

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) MP Roshan Karki has claimed that republicans are fearful of the recent public appearances of former King Gyanendra Shah.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, MP Karki said the enthusiasm shown for the former monarch was just the beginning.

“These scenes are just a trailer — the full film is yet to be released,” she said.

MP Karki attributed the massive turnout that welcomed the former king in Kathmandu last Sunday to the incompetence of the current government.

“Everyone has civil rights and the freedom to express their opinions. The crowd on Sunday was born out of the government’s inefficiency. The longer this government stays in power, the larger the crowds will become,” she said.
