Durga Prasai accuses Rajendra Lingden and Kamal Thapa of double standards in monarchy movement

KATHMANDU: Durga Prasai has publicly criticized RPP leaders, Rajendra Lingden and Kamal Thapa, accusing them of double standards.

Prasai held a press conference today at his residence, where he expressed his discontent with the role of the RPP leaders in the movement.

Prasai claimed that both Thapa and Lingden had previously signed agreements to establish a republic and secularism in Nepal, accusing them of hypocrisy.

He further alleged that the RPP leaders had come to cheat after the republican atmosphere had been created and that they had tried to involve him in their efforts after the shift in political dynamics.

Prasai challenged the RPP leaders to resign from their positions as Members of Parliament if they were serious about restoring the monarchy in Nepal.

He also made it clear that he would not collaborate with the RPP in the future, stating, “I will not shake hands with the RPP.”
