Ghanashyam Upadhyaya appointed Finance Secretary



KATHMANDU: Ghanashyam Upadhyaya has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, replacing Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire.

A farewell ceremony was held for Ghimire, who has been transferred to the Office of the President, following a decision by the Council of Ministers.

At the program, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel expressed confidence that Upadhyaya would meet the nation’s expectations under his leadership.

He also acknowledged Ghimire’s significant contributions in making the economy more disciplined and dynamic.

In his remarks, Finance Secretary Upadhyaya expressed gratitude for the new role, pledging to focus on revenue growth, capital expenditure, and investment to strengthen Nepal’s economy.

Ghimire also thanked the government for his tenure, emphasizing his continued support for Nepal’s economic progress.
