SIRAHA: Establishment of an industrial village has been planned at Laxminagar of Surunga municipality-3 in Saptari district. Industrialist Birendra Neupane informed that the industrial village named ‘Big Indus Padamnagar’ will be constructed within two years at a cost of Rs 4 billion.

The industrial village would be set up in 14 bighs of land.

Senior leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal laid a foundation stone to the industrial village on Monday. On the occasion, leader Khanal said the industries play a significant role for the national development.

“It is a historic project which is linked to country’s development and prosperity,” he observed, adding that private sector is capable to forward the development initiatives. Such activities help create employments, he added.

He further viewed the employments generated within country would curb youth exodus.

Similarly, the company proprietor and hydropower entrepreneur Birendra Neupane informed that the industrial village was being set up in memory of his grandfather, Padma Bahadur, who had a significant contribution in the social sector. “We can also work in the country by establishing industries and giving jobs to the youths,” he said, adding that he took the decision of industrial village after realizing the need of service to the native land.

“It would benefit a huge number of people when it comes to operation,” he believed.

In the facility, there will be a pulp factory for producing packets of fruit juice and pulp.

During a season, 10 trucks of mango would be purchased from farmers for the factory every day. It helps ensure proper value to the locally produced fruits.

Similarly, a cold storage capacious for as much as 2,600 metric tons of fruits would be constructed in the facility. It would not only help farmers store their products but also give market, according to Neupane.

In collaboration with Indian businesspersons of petroleum products, a lubricant factory would be set up in the industrial village.
