KATHMANDU: Chair of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has stated that efforts are ongoing to bring various communist forces together for leftist polarization in the country.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the party’s 8th Lalitpur District Committee convention on Saturday, Nepal emphasized the need to activate the Socialist Front to unite socialist, leftist, and communist ideologies under a single platform.

He highlighted the importance of consolidating groups committed to communist principles and ideals to advance national issues, livelihood improvements, and governance reforms.

Nepal mentioned that parties sharing ideological alignment could unite, while collaborations could be pursued with those yet to align ideologically.

As a former prime minister, Nepal urged leaders and cadres to remain focused on citizen-centric political activities, emphasizing that his party continues to play a significant role in Nepal’s political landscape.

He called for collective efforts to ensure good governance, resolve national challenges, and improve public livelihoods, adding that such actions could pressure the state to implement positive changes.

Nepal acknowledged that the Socialist Front has not progressed as expected following shifts in power dynamics but assured that new strategies and plans are being developed to revitalize the front.

The district convention will continue through Sunday.
