Ambassador of Qatar pays courtesy call on VP Yadav



KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal, Mishal Mohammed Al Ansari, has paid a courtesy call on Vice-President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav at the latter’s office in Lainchour on Wednesday.

They discussed the various issues including mutual relations between Nepal and Qatar, collaboration in multilateral and regional forums, labour and trade, according to the Office of the Vice-President.

On the occasion, Vice-President Yadav opined that that Nepal and Qatar have been enjoying excellent relations since establishment of diplomatic relations in 1977.

He also shared that as the member of the United Nations and Non-Aligned Movement, the continued collaboration between Nepal and Qatar in multilateral and regional forums is commendable.

Stating that there are around 365,000 Nepali workers in Qatar, the Vice-President thanked the government of Qatar for providing employment opportunity.

“The government is committed to ensure safe and dignified foreign employment,” he opined. VP Yadav thanked the Emir of Qatar for pardoning Nepalis, who were serving jail terms in different jails of Qatar, on the occasion of Ramadan and Eid, 2025.

Expressing the belief that direct flight between Nepal and Qatar would help promote tourism and trade expansion, he laid emphasis on the need of making Kathmandu-Doha direct flight more effective.

Vice-President Yadav through the Qatari Ambassador congratulated the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the people of Qatar on the occasion of National Day of Qatar as well as wished them good-health, happiness, peace, progress and prosperity.

Similarly, the Ambassador of Qatar mentioned that there is old and strong relations between Nepal and Qatar, adding Qatar released 30 Nepalis from different jails of Qatar at the request of the government of Nepal.
