Dan Bahadur Karki appointed as new Inspector General of Police



KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Additional Inspector General (AIG) Dan Bahadur Karki as the new Inspector General of Nepal Police.

According to government spokesperson Jagadish Kharel, Monday’s Cabinet meeting decided to appoint Karki to replace outgoing IGP Chandrakuber Khapung, who will retire at midnight on Kartik 26 after completing 30 years of service, as per police regulations.

Karki, who has been serving as the head of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Rani Pokhari, was selected among four contenders: Dr. Manoj KC, Rajan Adhikari, and Siddhi Bikram Shah.
