Prachanda slams Oli’s arrogance, calls it unfortunate

KATHMANDU: Coordinator of Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has remarked that the arrogance displayed by those previously in power remains unchanged, even after the Gen-Z movement, calling it deeply unfortunate for the country.

Speaking during an interaction with editors in Kathmandu on Friday, Prachanda took a veiled jab at CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, accusing him of behaving as if he were still in government.

“The arrogance of our former coalition partners, who led the government until recently, remains intact. It is no less unfortunate for the country that some leaders continue to prioritize their own egos over the needs and sentiments of the people,” Prachanda said.

He added that in response to recent events, the Maoist Centre has outlined a roadmap to address the demands raised by the Gen-Z youth movement, affirming the party’s support for their concerns.

Prachanda also criticized both the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, stating that the current political crisis is the result of their past arrogance while in power. He said he had repeatedly warned the former government about rising public discontent but was ignored.
